Trans 101 – Workshop
Trans 101 Workshop
February 27 | 6:30 – 8:00pm.
The Get REAL Movement’s Trans 101 workshop is designed for parents/caregivers who have already participated in our Inclusivity Workshop and are interested in continuing important conversations around gender identity. You will leave the workshop with:
- A deeper understanding of gender identity through hearing the lived experiences of young and relatable trans identified facilitators firsthand, through open and honest story sharing
- An increased awareness of terminology, inclusive language, and the diverse ways to identify and express gender
- Specific examples of transphobic discrimination, myths, stereotypes, and harmful language, and the impact they have on all of us
- Ways to support a trans child
- A chance to work through realistic and customized scenarios relating to gender identity
- The chance for parents/caregivers to honestly ask questions and for advice anonymously from our experienced facilitators
The workshop will take place virtually on Tuesday, February 27 from 6:30 to 8:00pm. To RSVP, please complete the form below.
Organized by Hillcrest Community School, McMurrich Junior PS, and Earl Grey PS School Councils thanks to the TDSB School Council Innovation Grant .
